The app records which screens are used and for how long, so it can be made better at the things people actually do with it. It does not record who is using them, and there is no identifier that could be traced back to you.
Why anything is collected
The app is built by one person, and usage data is the only honest way to tell which parts of it earn their place. Knowing that a feature is opened by nearly everyone — or by almost nobody — is what decides which of them gets improved next, which gets fixed first, and which is quietly taking up room. Knowing how long a screen holds someone says whether it is doing its job or getting in the way.
Improving the app is the whole purpose. The data is never sold, never shared with anyone, and never used for advertising. None of it needs to know who you are, which is exactly why it doesn't.
What is collected
Usage data only, through Aptabase, an analytics service that is open source and privacy-focused by design. Each event carries:

What is not collected
- No device identifier and no advertising identifier. Aptabase does not issue one, so there is nothing to link two sessions together as the same person.
- No account. The app has no sign-in, so there is no name, email or profile.
- No reading position. Which surah or verse you are on, what you have bookmarked, what you have memorised and what you have written in your notes never leave your device.
- No precise location. Country is derived from the network request and nothing finer is recorded.
- No tracking across apps or websites. There is no advertising and no third-party tracker.
Where your own work is kept
Bookmarks, notes, topics, memorised surahs, reading sessions, saved roots, cached verses and downloaded recitations are stored in a database on your device. They are included in your device's own iCloud or local backup if you have one, and are never uploaded anywhere by the app. Deleting the app deletes them.
What the app fetches
Quran text, translations, tafsir and recitation are requested as you read them, from AlQuran Cloud and Quran.com. Those requests carry no identifier from the app, though like any web request they reach the provider with your IP address, which is subject to each provider's own policy.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects nothing that could identify anyone, of any age.
Changes
If what the app collects ever changes, this page changes with it and the date above is updated.
