The recitation stops when I lock the screen

It shouldn't — playback continues with the screen locked, and the lock screen and Control Centre both carry the controls. If it stops, check that the app is allowed to play in the background and that Low Power Mode is off, since iOS suspends more aggressively under it.

Following the words is not offered for my reciter

Word-level timings are published for some reciters and not others, and the app only offers the feature where real timings exist rather than guessing at them. Choosing a different reciter in Settings will bring it back.

A surah will not load

Verses are fetched the first time you open a surah and cached afterwards, so a surah you have read before works offline but a new one needs a connection. If it persists with a good connection, the source API may be briefly down; it will load on a later attempt.

My reading streak reset

A day you read counts +1 and a day you miss counts −2, so a gap of a few days pulls the total down faster than it climbed. It never drops below zero, and reading again starts it climbing from wherever it landed.

Can I move my notes and bookmarks to a new phone?

Yes. Settings has a backup that writes a single file containing your own work — notes, bookmarks, topics, memorised surahs and reading history — which you can restore on the other device. It deliberately leaves out cached verses and downloaded audio, which the new device will fetch for itself.

Is my reading private?

Yes. What you read, bookmark, note and memorise stays on your device. The app reports which screens are used and for how long, with no identifier attached to it — the privacy page sets out exactly what is and is not recorded.

Still stuck?

Write to support@mymawa.com. The quickest way is Settings → About → Send feedback in the app itself, which fills in the version, the device and the rest before you start typing — that information is usually the first thing needed to find a problem.

If you would rather report it in the open, there is an issue tracker.
